What makes ziplining on Maui different?

Ziplining on Maui is quick and easy to fit into a vacation day. Most courses take two to two and a half hours, so you can zip in the morning and still make the beach by lunch. You'll fly through giant eucalyptus trees, cross swinging bridges between tree platforms, and look out over the Pacific from the lines.

The North Shore has three of our five tours, all near Haiku. NorthShore Zipline runs seven lines through towering eucalyptus at Camp Maui, a former World War II Marine base with its own small museum. On clear days you can see Haleakala and the island of Molokai from the course. A few minutes away, Jungle Zipline strings five or eight lines through the rainforest canopy, with tree platforms and an 85-foot suspension bridge, and you can explore its tropical park when you land.

West Maui is the place for racing. Kapalua Ziplines runs every line in pairs, so you and a partner launch side by side on four or six dual lines above Kapalua. Guides wait at both ends of each line, and guests often name the view from the fourth line as one of the best on the island.

Which Maui zipline is best for kids?

NorthShore Zipline takes kids from age 5 and 40 pounds, the youngest start of any Maui tour we list. It also offers a Scaredy-cat Guarantee: if your child decides after two lines that ziplining isn't for them, you get a full refund. Jungle Zipline starts at age 6, and kids under 13 zip with a family member who is at least 16.

How old do you have to be to zipline in Maui?

The minimum age is 5 at NorthShore Zipline and 6 on both Jungle Zipline courses. For the Kapalua courses, the operator's booking calendar shows the current age rules before you pay.

What are the weight limits for a Maui zip line?

NorthShore Zipline allows riders from 40 to 270 pounds. Jungle Zipline's range is 45 to 250 pounds, and staff weigh every guest at check-in and strictly enforce it. Check the booking calendar for Kapalua's limits.

How much does ziplining on Maui cost?

Prices start at $74.50 for NorthShore Zipline's seven lines and $79.50 for Jungle Zipline's eight-line tour. The five-line jungle course starts at $139. Kapalua's dual-line tours start at $198 for four lines and $240 for six. Prices change, so the Book Now button always shows today's rate.

How long does a Maui zipline tour take?

The shortest is the five-line jungle course at about 90 minutes. NorthShore Zipline and the eight-line jungle course take about two hours, the Kapalua four-line tour about two and a half, and the six-line tour about three and a half hours including the drive up the mountain.

What should I wear ziplining on Maui?

Closed-toe shoes with a heel strap are a must; sneakers or hiking shoes work best. Wear pants or long shorts (skip white, since you may get muddy), tie back long hair, and pack a change of clothes. On the Kapalua courses the harness sits around your thighs, so pants are the comfortable choice.

Do Maui ziplines run in the rain?

Yes. NorthShore Zipline and Jungle Zipline both run rain or shine, and NorthShore only calls off tours for lightning or winds over 35 mph, with a full refund or credit. Our Maui zipline tours are in two areas. NorthShore Zipline and Jungle Zipline are near Haiku on the North Shore, and Kapalua Ziplines starts on Office Road in Kapalua, in West Maui. We don't currently list an Upcountry or Kaanapali course.
